The Guest House

"Let all guests who arrive be received like Christ."

The Rule of Saint Benedict, chapter 53.

The Guest House

Faithful to the Benedictine tradition, monks attach great importance to the welcoming of guests and hospitality for anyone who comes to the door of the monastery, for anyone who wishes to share their life of prayer for a few days, for example during the holidays.

The abbey church is always open to those who want to join the choir of the monks who gather in Church at set times during the day to chant the services. The celebration of the Eucharist is the heart of the monastic day where all, monks, guests, retreatants, visitors, listening to the Word of God, through the great Eucharistic Prayer and the Communion with the Body and Blood of Christ, make one Body in Christ.

For a first stay in the guest house, in a quiet and silent place conducive to meditation and spiritual renewal, we recommend two or three days. Afterwards, an individual retreat may be longer but not longer than a week. This concerns adults.

The guest house has 31 single rooms. Meals are taken in silence in one of the dining-rooms of the guest house. An oratory, a library and a few reading rooms and parlours are available to guests. Your offering will be discussed with the guest master.

Groups

For people coming in groups, we can suggest one specific places to stay : the Foyer Saint Julien.

It's a place to exchange and to share where young people can stay up late, sing, dance, talk and laugh in full freedom out in the open.

It's a place separated from the guest house inside the abbey where we try to maintain a quiet atmosphere.

The Foyer Saint Julien is about 200 m from the reception buildings and offers 30 beds, a large communal room, a kitchen...
